They range from a four-piece Dance Band available for smaller Weddings, up to large ten piece function bands with a full brass section and sophisticated lighting systems for entertaining at larger wedding venues and Marquees.

A good band for a wedding is a must, some of the Wedding Bands allow you to influence the bands play-list and will learn a specific track for the couples first dance. Wedding Bands are made up of professional musicians with many years experience that specialise in playing a wide ranging repertoire to suite all tastes and ages. We wanted to write personally and thank you for the amazing choice of band for our recent wedding reception. “Band One'” were absolutely fantastic keeping the dance floor buzzing all night! We wanted a party atmosphere for our evening reception and they helped to provide this. Everyone we have spoken to since our return has commented on how fantastic the evening was especially the way they helped form the circle at the end for us to say our goodbyes, a very special touch!

The Band have FOUR hour-long sets to choose from, specially structured to provide an unbeatable selection of non-stop fantastic music to keep the party going all night. for the first set, they have chosen songs that open the party in the perfect way - with numbers that are perfect to just sit, listen to and enjoy as the night begins, or to get straight up and dance to so you can start as you mean to go on! the second set turns into disco-mania! Function Band Seven was formed in 1982, by band leader Keith, and is one of the most experienced and versatile bands on the professional function circuit. The variety of their repertoire and the high standard of musicianship have combined to give the band an established reputation and makes them the natural choice for any function.

The band can easily switch between fifties rock and roll, sixties pop – seventies
disco - eighties rock, and current chart material.

Function Band Nine is a professional band familiar with the requirements of weddings, private parties, dinner dances, promotional events and company functions. With years of experience working in London’s top hotels (including a residency at the Park Lane Hilton) together with prestigious venues throughout the south of England.

Their extensive repertoire caters for all age groups, covering such styles as :

The Band is unique in its ability to feature the Saxophone, Flute and Trumpet within the 4-piece band. This adds an extra dimension to the sound and repertoire: the famous Saxophone solos of the 60’s and Rock ‘n’ Roll era, Glenn Miller’s Big Band Sound, modern pop ballads featuring the Saxophone and the romantic atmosphere created by the Flute. These are features that are normally only found within much larger bands.

For larger venues or that extra special occasion, they can augment up to a 6 piece band with the addition of an extra female Keyboard / Vocalist and Trombonist. FUNCTION BANDS TWELVE
Function Band Twelve are one of the Finest Disco Soul and Party Bands in the UK. Established 8 years ago as a muse for a group of musicians playing the '70's and 80's Soul Weekender' Disco soul music they loved, for the enjoyment of themselves and friends. The band are regulars to the Butlins Soul and Disco weekends as well as regular private function work. They are NOT a Cheesy middle of the road band performing the few tired old Disco tunes that they know. The Band are an exceptionally talented, reliable and energetic group of players performing carefully selected iconic tunes from the 70's and early 80's to present that make people want to dance!

Options:
The Band's Set can be as specific or broadly mixed as required to suit the audience, for example 70's/ 80's Disco soul (dance floor classics from the period).

Function Band Fourteen have a repertoire ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Stevie Wonder to Michael Jackson. The Band are one of those rare bands who are equally at home performing jazz/swing classics from the 40s and 50s, soul and disco anthems, or recent chart hits.

How do they do it? Simply by being exceptionally talented musicians, who have studied hard, practised hard and honed their skills by working with a feast of top names in the world of jazz and soul The Band is fronted by vocalist Marion J whose voice can move effortlessly from sultry dinner jazz to floor-filling dance numbers. More than just a gifted vocalist Marion is also an exceptionally hard-working entertainer who can rapidly build a close rapport with the audience. The rest of this sparkling band consists of guitar/sax/vocals, keyboards, female backing vocalist, bass and drums. The line-up can be extended to include trumpet and additional sax.

Members of the band have played with many leading Jazz musicians such as Alan Skidmore, George Shearing and Tony Coe and will have been spotted recently playing at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Scoop on Londons South Bank as well as well known London Nightspots such as Sway in Covent Garden and the world famous Ronnie Scotts.

The repertoire includes a wide variety of Soul and Disco favourites Signed Sealed Delivered / If I cant have you / Play that Funky music etc and as they are all great Jazz Musicians they also play a wide range of Jazz vocal standards and instrumentals.

FUNCTION BANDS FIFTEEN
From the smouldering vocals of Dusty, to the 70s classics of Gloria Gaynor and from the pop sensibility of Kylie to the 50’s authentic sounds of Elvis. This band have it all. Covering artistes as diverse as Aretha to the Scissor Sisters and Madonna.

As a four piece Band they are a slick and professional outfit, fully self contained with quality P.A., monitoring, stage lighting, and effect (disco) lighting.

The band always arrive early for a show, and can be very compact, (can fit in an area 6ft x6ft), and only require an electrical point(240v). All their equipment is P.A.T. tested and they are covered through public liability insurance.

They play to suit the occasion, be that a quiet dinner dance or a rowdy works xmas party! For a Wedding, they can learn your favourite song for your first dance and offer the use of their P.A. for speeches etc.

FUNCTION BANDS SIXTEEN

Philosophy
Function Band Sixteen are dedicated to creating a party atmosphere wherever they perform. They believe close interaction with the audience is essential.

Made up of experienced, professional musicians, the band superb delivery aims to create a vibrant party atmosphere and a busy dance floor all night.

Services
Function Band Sixteen is fronted by a female vocalist and backed by four musicians providing live drums, bass guitar, keyboard, electric guitar and *sequenced backing tracks. With the mix of professional musicianship and the latest technology the band are able to recreate superb renditions of the best Disco, Soul and Modern Pop songs of all time.

*The sequenced backing tracks are produced and recorded by the band using a mix of programmed and live instruments which include: brass, percussion, strings, sound effects and additional backing vocals. This gives SCD a bigger & fuller sound!

Timings and Regulations
The band normally play 2 x 1 hour sets up till 12am, and provide their own Sound System, lighting and recorded music for intervals. It takes approximately 2 hours to set up and sound-check.

The band have a £2 million Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested electrical equipment (tested October 2008). Certificates available.

History
The five funky soulsters have a wealth of experience behind them and all have worked within different musical styles and genres. Over the years the musicians have performed live on television, radio and have played along side some of the worlds finest, including Mariah Carey, Craig David & 90’s band Dodgy.

These five talented musicians have performed at many weddings, private parties and corporate functions throughout the UK and played at many leading UK venues including:
